Family Commitment

Scripture teaches that children are a gift from God and God has entrusted children to parents. Parents then are given the privilege and responsibility of discipling their children in the ways of the Lord. We take this weighty responsibility seriously at FBCER. Each year, we offer parents the opportunity to publicly commit to raising their child or children in the ways of the Lord through a ceremony we call Family Commitment.

Family commitment is for any family who desires to raise their child or children in the ways of the Lord. Some families who participate have just had a baby, others have adopted a child, while others have recently started coming to church and want to commit to raising their children in the ways of the Lord.

At FBCER, family commitment has two parts: a breakfast and a ceremony. On Sunday, June 8th at 9:00am, we will have a breakfast in the café. During the breakfast, we will walk through what family commitment is and is not. Then, on Sunday, June 15th during the service, your family will take part of the family commitment ceremony.
